Pirates fest!

Piratesfest

Friday October 28th 2009 kicks off the Upper Keys 2nd annual Pirates fest. Join in the events either as a participant or pirate as we surrender control of our Islands to the pirates that once controlled them. Key Largo's Pirates Festival focuses on the life of Black Caesar, who sailed and pillaged the waters off Key Largo in the 1800's. This event will include historical reenactments of Black Caesar's life and travels around Key Largo.

Key Largo and Florida's Upper Keys, welcome you to the Upper Keys Business Group

The UKBG is a business group whose mission is to focus on enhancing and encouraging responsible economic development of the area by looking for ways to increase tourism and jobs in an effort to further support a year round economy and enhance the areas quality of life.

The Upper Keys Business Group is a non-profit organization that was created to foster business events in the Upper Keys.

Our festivals include Pirates fest, Singers and Song Writers, the Food and Wine Festival and our celebration of Independence as a Conch Republic of the Northernmost Territories!

Pictures of the Upper Keys travelled the globe as we set a Guinness Book of Records for the most people to simultaneously blow a conch shell.

In April of 2009, the Upper Keys seceded from the tyranny of the Conch Republic to our south. Thus began our celebration of Independence with the burning of the flag and the installation of a new flag.
